Today we will discuss the book The Angel Experiment. This book is by James Patterson, whom I am sure you are familiar with. James Patterson writes many adult fiction books, but this is one of his few young adult fiction books. James Patterson has also wrote The Dangerous Days of Daniel X, which turns out to be a series. But this post isn’t about James Patterson, it’s about the Angel Experiment and the other books in the series. This book is the first book in the Maximum Ride series. The first edition copyright is 2005, and the others are mainly 2007. This book also won the Gateway Readers Award from 2007- 2008, according to the library copy I have. I have thoroughly enjoyed this book and couldn’t put it down, which is why I read the whole book (all 422 pages) in two days. I will tell you more about this book in the next paragraph.
This book is about a kid named Maximum Ride and her friends going on a journey to help one of their friends escape from the place where they were created. Yes, I said created. These kids aren’t normal kids, they’re 98 percent human and 2 percent bird. They can grow wings, are far stronger than the average adult, faster than most adults, as tall as adults (or taller) and are being hunted by physcopath wolf men called Erasers. So yeah, they’re pretty normal. Now, before I said they had to rescue a friend. They are trying to rescue 6 year old Angel who can breathe underwater, has telepathy and is 4 feet tall. Maximum Ride (best known as Max) is about 5 foot 8 with dirty hair and starts becoming insane. Or at least most people think she’s insane. There is also?14 year old?Fang, the strong silent type. Then there was the Gasman (or Gazzy) who is eight years old, the only person to have a blood sibling?in the team (Gazzy’s sister is Angel and the team is called the flock) and can mimic practically any voice or sound.
Also there is Nudge, an 11 year old girl who can’t keep her mouth shut and develops the ability to draw information from machines, or anything she touches. Her power is new and is not explained very much in the book. Last but not least is Iggy, the 14 year old 6 foot blind kid who has a very sensitive touch and can pick pocket, fix computers, assemble bombs and can practically see in the dark. Notice I said practically, because the scientists at the School (the main bad guy headquarters) tried to boost his night vision but ended up making him blind. Now that I have explained the main story line and the characters (at least the main good guys), on to the next paragraph!
I really liked this book. I have read the first book in The Dangerous Days of Daniel X, and loved it! I personally recommend both of these books (you should probably read the others in each series also) to anyone who loves a good action thriller and can take a few laughs along the way! I sincerely hope you all read these books and enjoy them!
All characters and storyline in this book (and anything else) was written by James Patterson and I am giving him full credit. I would also like to thank James Patterson for these great books and I wish he would write more young adult books. I will be sure to read them.

Today we will discuss the book The Lighting Thief. It is the first book in the Percy Jackson & the Olympians series. I had to go back in time to comment on this book since it is the first one in the series. This book came out in April 1, 2006. This is the first of many masterpieces in the series by Rick Riordan.
This book is about how 12 year old Percy Jackson keeps getting kicked out of every school he goes to. While all this is taking a tole on Percy, it’s taking an even greater on Percy’s mom Sally Jackson. Sally works at the candy shop and is the nicest mother in the story. Sally married a jerk named Gabe Ugliano, who Percy nick named Smelly Gabe. Sally only married this jerk to keep Percy’s half-god scent disguised. At this point you are all probably confused, so I’ll clear everything up in the next paragraph.
First of all, why would I call Gabe a jerk? Well, all Gabe does is sit around drink beer, smoke, watch TV and play poker. So yeah, Gabe’s useless. Secondly, what is a half-god scent? Well, technically, it’s a demi-god scent and monsters use that to track demi-gods and kill them. Yeah, it’s important to be covered with a mortal scent. Also, Gabe is Percy’s step dad. His real dad is Poseidon, the God of the Sea. But it’s hard for the God of the Sea to just go to there kid’s baseball game or birthday party and say “Hi, I’m the God of the Sea, enjoy the cake”. So, naturally, Percy didn’t know Poseidon was his father.
I’ll continue on with the description now. When?Percy learns he’s a demi-god, he must go?out and find Zues’s all powerful master bolt and Hades’s all important Helm of Darkness or it would make the Trojan War look like a water balloon fight, Rick Riordan put “or it would make the Trojan War look like a water balloon fight,” in his book and I’m giving him full credit.
I loved this book! I can’t wait for the movie to come out in 2010! I hope you all get to read l of these books, because I’m sure you’ll enjoy them!

Today we will talk about the book The Last Olympian by Rick Riordan. This is the last book to the Percy Jackson & the Olympians series.?I told you I would go into the individual books so, now I am.
I just recently finished reading this book and I thought I would start writing about the individual books now. I’m not going to give everything away because that would be spoiling it and I wouldn’t want to do that just in case you wanted to read it. Rick Riordan always catches my attention when I see his books on the shelf. I always make sure to stop and check them out. I hope Rick will keep writing books because he has a good career ahead of him in my opinion. Now, onto the description.
The time has finally come for Percy’s prophecy to unfold. For those of you who have read the series, the anticipation is great and the story is about to end. For those who have read this book series, the secrets will be revealed and will reveal astonishing surprises at every twist and turn. Now, for those of you who have not read this series, I’m going to clear things up a bit. Percy Jackson was destined to be the child of the Great Prophecy by the Oracle of Delphi that took seventy years to complete. If you ask me, that’s got to be a pretty easy life. I’m kidding, that is actually a lot a pressure because when Percy turns sixteen he will have the power to decide the fate of man kind. I know it’s a lot of responsibility for a sixteen year old, that’s why it’s only a book.
If I were in that book, I would be scared to death! I just want you to visualize what it would be like to have your life and every other?life on the planet on the shoulders on a sixteen year old, even if he is the son of the sea god. It would be like having the weight of the sky on your shoulders and yes, Percy has held the sky on his shoulders before.
I loved this book! It also helped that I loved all the other Rick Riordan books I’ve read. This book had tons of action, fantasy, Greek Mythology and have?lots heart pounding surprises. I would be disappointed if this book was anything else then what I just described it as. Also for those people who don’t like to read, they are coming out with The Lighting Thief movie based on the book! I’m so excited for that to come out in 2010. I hope I get to see it and you get to read the books!

Today we will talk about the book Spy High. Spy High is written by A.J. Butcher. Today I will write about Spy High, mission one. Mission one is the name of this book. There is also mission two, three and four?in the Spy High series. The Spy High series is a set of realistic fiction books taking place sixty years from now, with extremely advanced technology.
Spy High is a seemingly normal school. But the trees are really cameras and the football players and students are holograms. Spy High’s real name is Deveraux Academy, but the students rarely call it that. They prefer to call it, Spy High. The Spy High series is focusing on a specific group of people called Bond Team. This team is named after the fictional spy James Bond. Bond Team consists of six people. Those people are Ben Stanton, Jake Daly, Cally Cross, Lori Angel, Jennifer Chen and Eddi Nelligan. They were all fourteen or fifteen.?Ben and Lori came from rich families, had good grades, looked nice and were very athletic. Ben was the leader of Bond Team and just didn’t know how to work as a team. Eddi was a red head who was bad at jokes and always trying his luck with girls, but never succeeding.?Eddie was also trying to let everybody know that the Nelligans were finally going to?be a somebody, for the Nelligans had?never really succeeded in that.?Cally was a street girl and the team’s expert at computers. Cally didn’t have very much education, due to the fact of living on the streets. Jake was a Domer. A Domer lived in a big dome with perfect conditions and never got to go outside. Jake was the exception. Jake wanted to get out of the Domes and he got his chance with Spy High. Jennifer was an extrordinary person in martial arts and had one deep dark secret. She wouldn’t tell anybody. In this book Bond Team must go to the Wildscape and have an ordianary camping trip, or so they thought. At the Wildscape Bond Team encounters creatures who aren’t human or animal. The worse part is, those things are trying to kill them. Can Bond Team make it out alive? Or will the be killed by those monsters? Read the book to find out!
I liked this book. This book is sort of like the Artemis Fowl series and the Alex Rider series. This book has a lot of action and mystery, as well as some science fiction. If you’re the person who likes spys and action with a hint of future stuff then this book might just be the one you want to read. If you don’t like action or spys then, this book might not be the one. Never the less, this book was funny and action packed.

Today we will talk about The Wish List. The Wish List is a book written by Eoin Colfer. Eoin Colfer is also the author of the Artemis Fowl series and, Airman. This book takes place in Ireland, also the place where Eoin Colfer lives. Many of Eoin Colfer’s books take place in Ireland.
The Wish list (as I said above) takes place in Ireland. There fourteen year old Meg Finn has to aid a robbery on an old man’s home. Meg is aiding sixteen year old Belch. Meg and Belch are going to steal from a senior Lowrie McCall. In the middle of the robbery, Meg has a change of heart and bails out. While Meg is running, Belch is tailing her with a shotgun and his vicious canine Raptor. Then, Meg arrives at a dead end with a gas tank and Belch with a shotgun. Belch fires a warning shot and, BOOM, Meg, Belch and Raptor are dead. Now Meg has to set things right in order to go to Heaven. Belch, he’s working for the Devil now. Meg now has to aid Lowrie McCall in setting things right in his life, by following a wish list he made. Can Meg make it to Heaven? Or will Belch drag her down to the Devil?
I have read many of Eoin Colfer’s books. I have almost completed the Artemis Fowl series. I have read the Wish List and I think it is a very good book. If you like lots of action and fantasy then, this book might be the right one for you. If you don’t like action and fantasy then, this book might not be right for you. But if you liked my description of the book then, go and read the book! If you read it I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
